Victorian Walnut Washstand (1880s) $3,200

A Victorian walnut washstand with a marble top and backsplash and a North Wind crown. It is American manufactured, circa 1880 – 1895, and was part of an antebellum plantation in Americus, Georgia. There are no known maker’s marks. Its dimensions are 89 inches tall, 36 1/2 inches wide and 36 inches deep. The cradle mirror is operable, but one mirror hinge casting is broken. A part of one drawer side is missing. Additional photos and information can be provided. The finish is original and in good condition. The marble is rose colored with veins of white and is in good condition. Two companion pieces are also available, a unique wardrobe with beveled glass mirror door and a monumental bed with exquisite burl walnut, all with matching crowns completing a bedroom suite.
